Home Pickup & Return

Start your holiday stress-free and relaxed, as we pick you up right from your front door. 

You’ll be greeted by one of our Tour Local crew, bags loaded, and welcomed on board – a great way to start your holiday! 

This service is available on all tours of 3 nights or more, and for those living within…
 Melbourne Metro, Mornington Peninsula, South East Suburbs, Gippsland (as far east as Sale).

If you are outside this area, or from interstate, talk to us about how we can arrange a central or hotel pickup for you!

Full Payment is due 2 months (60 days) prior to your date of departure.

And of course, one of fun...as each one of our buses comes paired with one of our friendly and experienced Driver-Guides!

Also, we don’t fill our buses – meaning that with our commitment to Small-Group Touring, you’ll have plenty of space to move around, and to get to know your fellow passengers!

You can book online in your own time by locating your desired tour, and following the booking prompts.
However, if you do not feel confident, or do not want to book this way, please simply call our office on – 03 5941 8800 – and we will happily take your booking for our extended Australia tours.

Yes!
If you are travelling with us on a tour of 3 nights or more, and live within the Melbourne Metro, Mornington Peninsula, or Gippsland regions, then your holiday starts from your front door – as we come and pick you up!

We will be in touch about 2 weeks prior to our tour departure to let you know of your pickup time.

Not to worry – this happens quite a bit, and there are still plenty of ways to get you on board. Sometimes, we ask that you pay a little extra, and we are therefore able to come pick you up from home (like a Taxi service). Sometimes, we will ask you to meet us at a central location (hotel, airport, train station). Or, you are of course welcome to drive to our depot and leave your car in our secure lot and depart with us from there.
We will discuss these options with you, to find one that best suits you!

We do our best to cater for all dietary requirements – please let us know of these at the time of booking.

The great thing about our tours is that there is something for everyone! Our days are engaging and interactive, without being overbearing and tiresome.
We understand that you want to get your moneys worth, but at the same time, also want some time for yourself and to be able to put your feet up and simply relax.

All we ask is that you are able to safely board and disembark our coach (4 steps) without need of assistance. If you can do that, you are fit enough for our tours!

This is fine – and happens quite often!
When booking online (or with us over the phone) simply select “Single looking to share”, and that way we can keep an eye out for a like-minded travelling companion for you in the same situation.
We will always OK this with both parties before we finaslise this, and normally suggest that you catch up for a phone call/coffee first.

Please be aware, until a sharing partner is found, you will be booked on at the Single Travellers price – as no guarantee is made by us that we will find you a sharing partner.

More or less yes. We believe that every seat on board is a comfy one, offering you amazing views as we cruise past. In saying that though, we do not allow anyone to “reserve” a seat for the duration of the entire tour – and where needed/wanted, we will ensure that everyone gets a chance to sit in the more desired seats.

We have a luggage limit of 16kg, regardless of any airline/cruise conditions – this is for OH&S concerns, and for the safety of our crew. It is our policy that you are responsible for the carrying of your bags to and from your room/coach, so please ensure you can manage them.
We will of course load your bag on and off the coach.
You are welcome to bring a day bag on board the coach as well.

Naturally, we have all had to adjust to life under Covid, and the one  main thing we’ve all learned from it is to be flexible. It’s hard to give a straight answer in terms of lockdowns, quarantines, boarder restrictions etc. just know that our number one priority is your safety – and regardless of what happens, we won’t leave you standard, and we’ll do whatever we can to ensure you get the holiday you deserve!

No – for our domestic Australia tours, this is not needed. However, WE HIGHLY RECOMEND IT!
We recommend that from the moment you book and pay your deposit, you take our travel insurance, as this covers you in case of early cancellation.
If you are looking for a good person to speak to in regards to travel insurance, a local company that we have used both professionally and personally is Triple T Insurance. You can call Daniel there on – 0403 352 314 – to obtain a quote.

If WE cancel a Australia tour at the discretion of Tour Local (ie. lack of numbers):
Then the option of a tour transfer, full tour credit, or full refund will be made available to you.

If YOU cancel a tour at your own discretion (ie. medical, change of mind):
Then the following refund conditions will apply. 

91+ Days:      Your deposit is fully transferable*
61-90 Days:              Forfeiture of deposit*
0-60 Days:            Forfeiture of Full Fare

*All less any monies already paid, or committed to, on your behalf to a third party that are not refundable to us (ie. pre-paid flights, rail, cruise)

If WE cancel a tour due to reasons outside of our control (ie. covid restrictions):
Then a tour transfer or a full tour credit of monies paid will be made available to you*
We reserve the right to take each matter on a case by case basis where the need is  appropriate.

If a lockdown is implemented or Covid conditions come in to place whilst we are out on tour, our first priority will always be the safety and well-being of our travellers. As such, we will assess and address each situation individually as it arises. 

Due to the ongoing nature of post-covid travel, we appreciate your understanding and patience when it comes to touring in this new landscape.
Please be aware that daily itineraries may be changed without notice, and  certain
inclusions substituted where needed.

*less any monies already paid on your behalf to a third party that are not refundable to us (ie. pre-paid flights)

This does vary from place to place – however, we believe in getting a good nights sleep, and understand that your room can be a bit of a refuge for you at days end – which is why we always seek our the best and most suitable accommodation for every location we travel to.

These will have (unless otherwise specified) individual en-suites, kitchenette facilities, basic motel amenities, and of course a nice comfortable bed for you to sleep in.

NOTE:
Twin = Two separate Beds (for two people)
Double = Large, Solo Bed (for two people)
Single = Solo Bed (normally a double/queen)

Home Start Touring

There is no better way to start your next holiday than being picked up right from your front door, and dropped off at tours end. What’s more, we ensure that these are conducted by our very own Tour Local team, meaning that from the very moment you walk out your door, your Tour Local experience has begun.
This service is offered for any tour of 3+ nights, for those living within 60km of our depot (Pakenham). For those outside of this location, contact us to find out what we can do for you.

With our travelling numbers averaging between 10-20 passengers, we believe that this is a perfect number for you to be able to get to know your fellow travellers, without feeling like you are just another number on board.
